Friday Favourites

Today has been an insanely busy day, I've been to North London and back in 5 hours for a second interview at Disney and as soon as I returned I was whisked away to Brighton for a photo shoot. Mummy Springett turns *saying it very quietly* 50 in July along with my 21st birthday and apparently all she wants is photos of "my two beautiful daughters". Fortunately my cousin's husband is a brilliant photographer but he does it as more of a hobby so off we went for a quick little photo shoot on Brighton Pier, it was a really nice day and thankfully not awkward at all! As soon as I get the pics I'll show you.

This weekend, however, I will be preparing to go on holiday on Monday morning to Cyprus with the family which means unfortunately no blog for two weeks! I have prepared some posts and attempted to schedule the post so have a look from time to time to see if I've managed to upgrade my computer expertise, otherwise I will come back with some extremely long posts to say sorry and with lots of recipes of yummy Greek food, just wait til I get my hands on that feta! I've actually got some really exciting things happening when I'm back which I can tell you all about, including one of my best friend's gorgeous 21st birthday parties!

So for now I just wanted to show you a few of the favourite things that are making me happy right now, I can't wait for a chilled weekend with the family at home this weekend obviously with lots of Jubilee cakes and my favourite, bunting!

Favourite tune:

{Rudimental - Feel the Love}

I'm literally obsessed with this song at the moment and it's set to be number 1 this week apparently. I can't tell you how long it took me to find out who it was by from hearing it randomly on the radio but now it is a firm favourite if I'm ever in need of a pick me up and a boogie!

Favourite Summer Picture:

{Splish Splash}

Favourite Summer Shorts:

{Lace denim shorts}

I found this idea on Pinterest a while ago actually and it's really handy now everyone's getting their summer wardrobes out and may be finding the shorts they once loved are pretty short now! If you sew in a bit of lace wherever it's looking a bit bare it's a cute little alternative to your denim shorts.

Favourite Song Quote:

{Temper Trap - Sweet Disposition}

I went out on Tuesday to an indie night and they played this song and I had totally forgotten just how many amazing memories the song brings back, of watching them live in a field at Latitude 2010 with my gorgeous girls from home in the sun, absolute perfection right?

Favourite Jubilee Picture:

This picture makes me excited for this weekend just looking at it, I can't wait to watch Britain do what Britain does best, be blooming British! Get your Pimms out everyone and have a fabulously long weekend! See you in a couple of weeks...

Summertime is Everything

I'm sure I'm not the only one when I say I am truly bored of rain and cold. Surely the sun should be coming out by now? Living in Bournemouth is both brilliant and torturous for weather, when it's good it's amazing, days on the beach in the sun is everything a girl wants. But when the weather's awful and you see what potential that beach has it makes you want to cry.

I have just over a month until my family holiday to Cyprus and it can't come quickly enough, I need some sun injected into my life!

So I have decided to pretend that it's sunny by looking at gorgeous pictures of summer and imagine I'm there. I've even started a list of things I want to do when it's sunny and hot outside, it's very therapeutic I'd suggest trying it!

Look at these photos and stick on 'We're all going on a summer holiday' and you'll feel a little sun on you, even if it's just for a few minutes.

{Summer roadside}

{Summer evenings}

{Perfect festival shorts}

{Ray Bans, the summer essential}

{Bunting and blue skies}

{Feeling the sun on your skin}

{Chilling by the lake}

{Mad hair in the sun}

{Reminds me of point to points}

{Sitting on your window sill with a good book and gorgeous boat shoes}

{I think you can tell I'm a fan of the old lens flare}

{Cycling in summer}

{Tanning in a row}

{Can't wait until I don't have to wear a jumper ALL THE TIME!}

{Reminds me of summer at school, making daisy chains}

{Waves}

{Wish I was there}

{Afternoon Tea Teepee}

{Summer deck shoes}

{Loving Ray Bans}

{Isn't this just the best sight on holiday?}

{Relaxing in the sun is not a waste of time}

Happy Gloomy Thursday everyone!

Alpe D'Huez Day One and Two

I'm finally back from skiing and have a terrible case of post holiday blues, I just want to be back there now!!

We all met at university on the Friday a week and a half ago and helped ourselves to a few drinks before the coach journey from hell, our theme for the coach was red gangster, I think everyone may know by now how little I can pull that look off so gold hoop earrings and too much bronzer it was!

{Ready to get on the coach}

{My coach buddy Elliza}

{Petrol pit stop}

I won't go into the coach journey much, suffice to say it was horrible and the smell will never leave me...

We got to Alpe D'Huez after many winding roads in the afternoon and settled into our little shared room with Emma, Lucy and Emma's sister Jen. Then we went out to a club called Underground, which is falsely named as it isn't underground but did have some tube maps to keep us feeling at home.

{A few of us at underground}

{Lucy looking surprised}

I guess I should mention the skiing, it was very nice and I think I slightly improved throughout the trip. It was the end of the season so it was very sunny but slushy snow, a slight goggle tan began to form!

{Chairlift and gorgeous view}

{Ski chums}

{Elliza looking unimpressed}

{Pretty mountains}

{Getting ready for our first ski}

The next night was the first of our themed nights, Band Geek! The theme was Spring Break so we decided to go as the nerds who go to band camp, unfortunately I am actually one of those nerds who went to band camp every summer, but lets just forget that fact.

For the outfits we had plain white polos tucked into shorts with writing on our backs saying 'This one time on the ski trip...' with varying events varying from the standard sexual student to exposing a forehead and my incredibly dull 'I had a bath'.

Anyway we all had our own instrument to make a glorious band of music, we went to a bar with many tables to dance on and then onto a sweat box club, then off home we went for midnight snacks.

{Our little band}

{A good looking bunch of nerds}

{I told you it was a sweat box}

Already the trip was shaping up to be a pretty good one...

(P.S. None of those photography is mine, it ranges from Anna, Emma, Lucy, Elliza and BU Snowriders photography - sorry for stealing guys!)
